Word processing has been around for as long as man has had written language. With the advent of the computer, originally intended strictly for numeric processing, word processing became automated and, within a few years, brought sophiticated electronic publishing to the desktop of the average person. The ultimate impact of this automation is yet to be seen. This course is designed to give the student a working knowledge of the Word word processing system. The student will gain proficiency with many common and useful word processing functions. The student will also be expected to become proficient working in a networked environment utilyzing electronic mail and personal storage space on a network server.
